Back in May of 1991, band director extraordinare David Fodor pulled some strings with Evanston Township High School’s cable station and was able to get our jazz combo (named “Special Blend”) its own half-hour tv taping. Here I am soloing on my 1st composition- a minor blues called “South Blvd” (a blatant rip-off of Trane’s “Equinox”). We all gotta start somewhere. This clip is merely the tip of the iceberg. Chris Greene - saxophones, Dempsey Lagrimas, Jr. - trumpet, Nathan Curtis - trombone, Gabe Shuford, keyboards, Jonathan Berry - guitar, Gordie Lewis - bass, Noah Sheldon - drums.
