This video is a tribute to the Ft. Washakie Helitack and 2 Firefighting Cousins serving in the crew. My son Reece Willie and my nephew Kali Willie served on the Crew of the 8MC, Ft. Washakie Helitack out of Wind River, Wyoming during the summer of 2015. They were assigned to the Pacific Region stationed on the Hoopa Indian Reservation in Northern California doing Initial Attack (IA) for the BIA and their partners in the National Forest Service (NFS) and CalFire. The crew captains never let the cousins fly together as a matter of policy for family members. The videos and still photos were done by the cousins.

Reece said he loved flying in the helos. He's currently on a Type 3 Engine with the National Forest Service, Boise National Forest. His cousin is back in Wyoming. Reece misses his days on the helitack crew. His Uncle Jack (my brother) flew in helos during Vietnam as a door gunner with the 25 Aviation Btn. ("Little Bears") and he was proud of Reece's work with the Helitack crew. Reece carries with him a patch from the Granite Hotshot crew who were killed several years ago when a fast moving fire overtook them in Northern Arizona. The firefighting brotherhood is a pretty tight community. He attended the memorial in Winnemucca, NV for the 2 BLM firefighters that died last year when their engine wrecked. The "last call" was pretty emotional.

The music by The Warning is a cover of the Metallica song Atlas,Rise! The lady rockers from Monterrey, Mexico have their first album on sale and are on target, in my opinion, to getting a future Grammy for their amazing work. Check these sisters out.
