In going to the supermarket your mind is in meditation. All the sense objects you see come from your mind. Look at every single thing AS it is a hallucination. With that awareness look at everything as empty. Not there. Merely labeled. Practice mindfulness that everything exists in mere name. Similar, if you go sightseeing or going for a pilgrimage you do the same meditation. That will cease the delusions, the subtle obscurations. Similar you do with the bodhicitta meditation, then continuously you create the cause of enlightenment.
