LS and LT packages include new programmable power door locks, and power output has been increased on the 4.8-liter and 5.3-liter V8 engines.  The first Chevrolet truck appeared in 1919 and the first pickup body was produced in 1924. An all-new pickup design was introduced in 1941, and 4-wheel drive debuted on Chevrolet pickups in 1958. The most recent Chevrolet C/K pickup was introduced in 1988 and the heavy-duty models are still being produced. The Silverado was introduced in 1999 as a replacement for the light-duty C/K pickups and featured all-new styling and new V8 engines.
