I am living in my van traveling across America. In this video I left Billings, MT to drive through Red Lodge, MT on my way into Yellowstone National Park. I made my way all the way through the pass and into Cooke City, MT before stopping. Just a mile or so from the Northeast Entrance into Yellowstone.

I strongly suggest either entering or exiting via this entrance. It has the most gorgeous terrain you can imagine with canyons, mountains, alpine lakes in so many colorful arrangements. For sure a great route.
