Widows premiered at the 2018 Toronto Film Festival in Canada. It is co-written and directed by Twelve Years a Slave Oscar Winning director Steve McQueen. Gone Girl and Sharp Objects writer Gillian Flynn co-wrote the script from the Lynda LaPlante original. The film stars Viola Davis, Liam Neeson, Michelle Rodriguez, Elizabeth Debicki, Carrie Coon, Colin Farrell, Robert Duvall, Jon Bernthal and Daniel Kaluuya. PLOT: Set in contemporary Chicago, amidst a time of turmoil, four women with nothing in common except a debt left behind by their dead husbands' criminal activities, take fate into their own hands, and conspire to forge a future on their own terms.
