Heroes teach, challenge, and inspire individuals to be the best we can be. But in our modern day, it's hard for us to find good examples of heroes. In this talk, Benjamin and Cady look at heroes from history and assess how their lives teach, challenge, and inspire us to be heroes. We'll also look at the 3G Principles and see how they are lived by those heroes. You don't want to miss this exciting talk.
What happens when you take a passion for history, speech, and writing and mix in a close sibling relationship and the desire to do good things? You get Titanic Heroes, created by a brother and sister duo Benjamin and Cady Crosby. When Benjamin was 12 years old and his sister Cady was 14, they teamed up to bring an idea to reality. They asked themselves, "What if we could inspire ourselves to always do our best while sharing stories about things we love?" With encouragement and mentoring from others, they created Titanic Heroes, an educational non-profit organization dedicated to sharing stories of self-sacrifice, heroism, and virtue.
These two use history to Teach, Challenge, and Inspire people to live the virtues in their own lives. Their headline stories include the story of Thomas Byles a priest onboard the RMS Titanic. Cady has written (the only) book A Titanic Hero-Thomas Byles about Father Byles written after research and interviews with his family. http://www.titanicheroes.com/titanicproducts.html
They also share the story of the "Four Immortal Chaplains." The chaplains are known for their "sacrifice at sea" during WWII. Cady has written a book The Four Immortal Chaplains-Legacy of Virtue about these amazing men and their call on our lives to live virtuously http://www.titanicheroes.com/militarychaplainsproducts.html
Benjamin, one of the youngest Eagle Scouts ever, has created a collectible patch series and collectible trading cards to augment their presentations. Benjamin and Cady currently have three programs- RMS Titanic Heroes: Virtue in 3G, The Four Immortal Chaplains: Legacy of Virtue, and Lepanto: The Battle that Saved Christendom. They are homeschooled and actively participate in competitive speech and debate - in their spare time.
The brother/sister team have been homeschooled their entire lives and create products and presentations they know are attractive and inspiring to homeschooling families. Please contact them at (360) 422-5910 or [email protected] for more information.
In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized.* (*Subject to certain rules and regulations)
