The plant house at Royal Botanical Gardens in Sri Lanka
This is a very large botanical gardens and even if you are not normally interested in botanical gardens, it is worth a visit if you have time in Kandy. It tends to be a "standard" stop for the tours as a visitor to Sri Lanka/Kandy. It is also interesting to see the local Sri Lankan's using the gardens, lots of families and also couples on romantic walks. There are also monkeys here.
