Sharp swords bite into one another when they engage edge against edge. This is one feature that blunt steel and synthetic training swords do not have. This range of sharp simulator blades from Black Fencer are synthetic, but they have teeth along the blade. This creates a sort of serrated effect, without actually being sharp. Causing the blades to bite, or bind against one another in a similar way to sharp steel does.
This was our first test of them as they just arrived today. A review will follow after further testing. The fencers are Nick in red, Malcolm in black. The sabres represent British infantry sabres of the late 18th and early 19th century, as does the style being used (Roworth/Angelo).
