"GO EASY ON THE GIRL"
(lyrics)
Friday night, Frankie's Diner
The place is packed again
The waitress is running
Like a chicken with no head
She's working 7 tables
Her arm is in a cast
She shows up with my coffee
Then she spills it in my lap
I tell her it's ok
But she's all teary-eyed
The customers are cursing
And it's been that way all night
The manager shows up
His face is fuming red
He tells her that she's fired
I say "You just wait one minute"

(chorus)
GO EASY ON THE GIRL
GO EASY ON THE GIRL
See she's been through hell
And she's back again
And tomorrow aint lookin any sweeter
So GO EASY ON THE GIRL

See I've known her since third grade
She lived across the street
Our senior year we drove to school
Each morning in my jeep
I've always looked out for her
She's like my little sis
I was there when she got married
On the deck of that big ship
But last July her husband
Who served 10 months in Iraq
Came back to the U.S.
Covered in a body bag
Now she's trying to raise two kids
Go to school, hold a job
And last week someone crashed into her van
That's how she broke her arm
So don't you
Don't you do her wrong

(Repeat Chorus)
