So yeah, to summarise, different cubes have different feels to them and some are meant to be turned differently, otherwise you'll lock up and such. Adapting your turning style to that cube could be a good thing or a bad thing. I found with the X that even though the setup is not great at the moment, I like how the cube wants me to turn.
