A "live" performance of "Ode To Orpheus" - track 2 from my album, "Apollo's Lyre": http://bit.ly/dhCozi

This album features original compositions for replica lyres, in a selection of ancient musical modes, heard throughout the ancient world. "Ode To Orpheus" is in the ancient Greek Hypodorian Mode - the equivalent intervals as A-A on the white notes of the piano.

In modern times, this mode has been misnamed the "Aeolian" mode - due to a massive mix up in the Middle Ages, some Medieval "scholar" (presumably sloshed on mead at the time!), went & gave all the ancient Greek modes the wrong Greek names & his monumental mix up remains in musical terminology to this very day!
