Chinese President Xi Jinping met with Chui Sai On, chief executive of the Macao Special Administrative Region (SAR), on Monday in Beijing. President Xi commended the work of Chui and the Macao SAR government in improving the system and mechanism for safeguarding national security, diversifying the economy and improving people's well-being. He also said the central government is fully committed to the principle of "One Country, Two Systems." Xi said he believes that Macao will seize the opportunity and foster new development momentum to greet the 20th anniversary of Macao's return next year.
