I love the idea of sharing our reaction to the same video and putting that up. Seems like it moves in the direction of one of the more noble results of YouTube, which can be to bring us together with what we share in a world that is so often more likely to divide us. I am just sad that the video that gains the most popularity doing this is a sad video of some of the most depraved behaviour a person (or two girls, in this instance) can engage in. Can't we raise our game a little as a community? Why not videotape our reactions to something heroic... or sweet... or sad... or funny? I know it's not as edgy as the other kind of video, but when I was younger... I pushed that same kind of edge all the time. If I was at a party and some disgusting subject came up... I wouldn't hesitate to turn the dial up 10 times and watch the jaws drop. As I've gotten older, I've realized what a sad waste of a human life it is to be fascinated by worthless things. What we see... what we listen to... what we do... the decisions we make about these things say a lot about how we feel about ourselves and do a lot to determine how the world feels to us. Seeking out the best of human behaviour leads to a happier life for each of us, and ultimately... a happier world. The choice is yours!
