Sanctum Easter Eggs - Mine Map (Voyage au centre de la Terre)

"Sanctum" is an FPS turret defense game. This video was taken during a coop game on the "Mine" map.

I found this stuff while waiting for Stavester (who abandoned me in the middle of a coop game for these things called "dinner" and "guests") who said he'd "only be like half an hour or something". I got bored and started trying to get out of the official area. Eventually I did, and was rewarded with an easter egg and AN ACHIEVEMENT ("Voyage au centre de la Terre") for doing so. The video shows more or less the whole thing.

To get there, jump down onto the long narrow bridge with the blue airstrip lights on it. I was able to get to it from the lower platform under the overpass behind the stacked boxes that you can mount turrets on (if you play the game you know what I'm talking about). After Stavester finally got back we played a couple more maps and discovered that there is a hidden area like this in each of the four maps, each with a special finder's achievement. So, I'll be posting a few more videos of this game for each of those.

The things on the end of the video are some other minor easter eggs in the same map. First is a computer terminal that tells you the main character's name (Skye) along with her serial number and other sillyness. Next are some screens displaying unreadable information about the aliens we're fighting... except none of those look like any of the aliens in the game. They actually all look, to me anyway, like the angels from the anime "Neon Genesis Evangelion". Possible homage? For more about Sanctum: http://youtu.be/EsM3_v7Ib-o
