The Bells were never officially a band, but rather a group of session musicians used to record popular songs of the time. Vocals on certain tracks were provided by Peter Vee and Richard Jon Smith, with the members of The Miracles often being used as session musicians (thanks to Peter Vee for the information!). The Miracles were formed in Johannesburg in 1969, with the members being: • Winston Campbell – vocals, lead guitar; • Audrey Campbell – guitar, flute, organ, vocals; • Ray Campbell – lead vocals, percussion; • Lance Saunders – keyboards, vocals; • Desmond White – bass, vocals; • Danny Williams – drums, vocals; • Lionel Magardie – lead vocals, percussion. They had a South African Top 20 hit with "Sweet City Woman" in 1972. It reached #11 and charted for 9 weeks. This song is off the album "The Bells Sing 'I Can See Clearly Now', 'Sunshine Lover' And Other Great Hits", released in 1972. It's a cover of a Daniel Boone song from 1972.
