http://www.cincinnatichildrens.org Faculty Awards - Feb. 6, 2015 Advocacy Achievement Award Sherine Patterson-Rose, MD, MPH Division of Adolescent Medicine Assistant Professor of Pediatrics Sherine Patterson-Rose, MD, MPH, has been a faculty member of the Division of Adolescent Medicine only since 2013, but has already made remarkable strides in advocacy as she pursues a mission to prevent sexually transmitted disease in young people. She is one of the original members of the Ohio Adolescent Health Partnership, where she leads the group’s subsection on reproductive health. In this capacity, she leads members in generating and organizing ideas to achieve the partnership’s strategic objectives. Locally, Patterson-Rose leads our Sexually Transmitted Disease Reduction Initiative, which fosters collaboration between Cincinnati Children’s and area public health departments. She recently co-developed a women’s health fair at the Midwest Black Family Reunion that included a focus on sexually transmitted infections. She also provides education about reproductive health to previously incarcerated young women who are now on probation. With such a strong start, Patterson-Rose will undoubtedly have a far-reaching impact on improving adolescent health in the years to come.
