A snippet of Pompey Under 18s manager Mikey Harris reflecting on his young charges' penalty shootout win at Bristol Rovers in the second round of the FA Youth Cup.

The youthful Blues side recovered from 2-0 down at the Memorial Stadium to lead 3-2 going into the last five minutes of normal time, in a game heavily affected by strong winds.

Calvin Davies grabbed a quick-fire double to put Pompey back on level terms, before substitute sensationally Harvey Bradbury put the visitors ahead late on.

But the wind was a factor again, as Alex Bass misjudged a ball into the box and was made to pay, with a Rovers player bundling the ball into the back of the net and send the tie to extra time.

It was an uneventful first period, with The Blues having a goal disallowed in the second, in a fairly chance-less extra thirty minutes.

And in the penalty shootout, it was Pompey who held their nerve - scoring all three of their spot-kicks - with Bass making two excellent saves to give his side a 3-1 shootout win.

The win sets up a mouth-watering third round tie with the mighty Manchester City at Fratton Park next month.
