3 Tablespoons coarse salt
3 Tablespoons sugar
4 tablespoons minced garlic
2 tablespoons minced ginger

1 1/2 cup Korean red pepper flakes

Did you know that kimchi was named one of the healthiest foods in the WORLD? Yes you read that right, the world. Fermented foods such as kimchi, sauerkraut and other vegetables are so healthy because the process of fermentation produces healthy bacteria or good bacteria (i.e. lactobacillus).

The production of such good bacteria in kimchi soothes the gastrointestinal tract (GI tract), aid in digestion, and heal the digestive tract, which in turn helps our bodies fight off infections. Many believe that the key to health and wellness is in the digestive tract…consuming fermented vegetables like kimchi will help you stay strong and healthy.

Even better, making this delicious traditional Korean side dish is way more cost effective than purchasing a $35 bottle of probiotics! It is surprisingly easy to make and with over 100 varieties you wont get bored experimenting.
