I am using VirtuaNES and imput this code into the cheat code menu: 6000-33-FFF09E. It has to be formatted that way or it will not work properly. I made a typo earlier. But it's a three byte hex code and those options should be autochecked when you put it in this way.

I used Open Broadcaster so I could record with codes on. As you can see not only does every step with a vehicle cause Lashiec to appear, but so does transitioning into a new area. Walking into a town will cause a Lashiec battle as will entering a building, transitioning from menu screens or using healing tiles in the Spaceport. If you use the Spaceport you can travel just fine. But as soon as you appear at your chosen location here comes Lashiec!

If you use a telepipe to then the next battle will be with regular enemies and the screen will be glitched. You can't really fix this without reloading the ROM from what I can tell. Although maybe using another savestate might be ok. I wasn't able to get Lashiec back without reloading my ROM.

This type of forced battle doesn't happen with regular enemies. Although you can force only those enemies to appear in random encounters by adding the codes such as:

6000-33-FFF08E Stone Heads - Air Castle background
But these are finicky and probably dependent on something else I don't quite see at the moment. If you use some of these regular enemy codes in another location you get different encounters. Such as using them in a dungeon instead of the overworld.

I assume you can force a battle with any boss in this manner though.
