In season 19, after I reached Legend I wanted to give the good old Warlock Murloc a spin at that level. Unfortunately, while the deck can still take some games from everyone, it is a lot more fragile than it was during its reign in vanilla. I played 28 matches with the deck in Legend, and ended up with a 12-16 record.

Because the Murlocs are initially so fragile, the opponents' ability to counter early non-charging aggression is a key weakness. Cards that do this have become more plentiful since vanilla, and some classes, especially Paladin, are also able to flood the board more effectively than Warlock Murloc. Because the deck requires board control and lacks AoE damage, it is generally unable to come back from a position where the opponent controls the board with multiple minions.

While the deck is fun to play on lower ranks, the high capability of high-rank decks to deal with the early board that Warlock Murloc is able to develop makes the deck not that much fun at higher ranks - not only do you lose regularly, but it also often feels like there is nothing you can do about it.

This video shows gameplay against Fast Druid, there are two matches here.
