As we see the new DLC for Battlefield 4, Final Stand has many weapons that lead us to believe that the future is in store for the Battlefield series. I think it would be a huge mistake if DICE does not move into the future with BF 2142. BF2142 was released in Oct 2006 and Northern Strike March 2007. In the story line the Ice Age struck and food was becoming scare due to less agriculture areas, and the two groups (European Union and Pan Asian Coalition began fighting. The Northern Strike patch was to take place six years into the war. The war started in 2139, so that means the next Battlefield 21 what ever can't be before 2145.

All Battlefield 2142 Servers were shut down June 30 2014
