This is the Day 1 of driving from Raleigh, North Carolina to Portland Oregon. The original plan was to drive to Marion Illinois but made such good time that I continued on another 300 or so miles and finally stopped at Columbia Missouri. That was 975 miles for the first day. Only travel issues was west of St. Louis where it suddenly started raining and slowed traffic down. Averaged around 22 miles to the gallon 4Runner doing great, Day 2 going to travel around the same distance into Wyoming going to make this trip in 3 days!
