Glee star Jonathan Groff was named London Newcomer of the Year at the 2011 Whatsonstage.com Awards on 20 February 2011 for his role in Deathtrap at the Noel Coward Theatre. Groff starred alongside Simon Russell Beale, Estelle Parsons, Claire Skinner in Matthew Warchus' production of the 1978 comic thriller. Groff used his London Newcomer of the Year acceptance speech to thank the cast and crew of Deathtrap as well as London theatregoers and fans who he said had made him feel welcome and very lucky.
