(6 Nov 2018) Missourians are well aware that it may be their state that decides who controls the United States Senate. Democratic Sen. Claire McCaskill has survived political near-death before in increasingly Republican Missouri. Voters on Tuesday will decide whether to re-elect her over young challenger Josh Hawley, who is backed by President Donald Trump. Laurine St. Pierre, a McCaskill supporter, said for he the decision was easy. "I am so opposed to the Republican party that it matters not who is running in that party right now, I think they are a bunch of cowards, and actually Claire stands for the things I believe in and that is probably the baseline right there," said St. Pierre. President Trump visited the state twice in the final days of the election in hopes of rallying his base to come out for Hawley. Chris Thompson said Trump played a role in his vote. "I don't miss voting unless it be a catastrophic reason. I like President Trump. Some people don't, I realize that, but he might have influenced me a little bit," said Thompson.
