This program is the Center's fourth satellite broadcast in the Special Needs Offenders series. The broadcast introduces a model for investigating and supervising disadvantaged defendants and offenders with limited job skills, life skills, and education. It also highlights techniques for handling resistant defendants or offenders; provides guidelines for developing community partners and in-house programs for employment assistance and cognitive skills training; and offers guidance on how to stabilize conflicts that arise from a defendant's or offender's difficulties in mastering basic life skills.
