The AP-1 is a light jet airplane capable of reaching 270 km/h (166 mph) in level flight. It does not use fin stool to fly, instead an E2 calculates the lift produced by the wings and tail based on: Prop area, angle relative to direction of motion and velocity.

This was used instead of fin because of a mistake while building the airplane. The wing has to be angled slightly into the direction of flight (four or five degrees). This is nessasary if the "no lift" fin setting is to be used (it mimmicks a symmetrical aerofoil instead of a cambered "lift by plane" aerofoil) as it provides great performance.

It has control surfaces moved indirectly by hydraulics. Hydraulic force is not directly applied to the surfaces. Instead a lever is moved by hydraulics (Turning force in to torque) which is advanced ballsocketed to the control surface. Both are hinged at their center of mass, so the hydraulics only carry angular load. The hinges carry linear momentum, greatly decreasing load on the hydraulics (which can be decreased by mechanical advantage/longer lever).

Another advantage is no load from lift. The aerocenter (point of net lift) of a prop is at the center of mass. This load is carried by a hinge (axis constrain). Because of this, the hydraulics only handle the angular momentum of the control surface.
