Child struck by SUV in serious condition

BAYRIDGE, Brooklyn - A grey Nissan Rogue hit a 10 year old boy playing on 84 st between Fort Hamilton Parkway & 5th Ave just before 5 pm, Sunday evening. The friend of the victim ran to his mother, Andrea Correa to tell her what happened. Andrea dialed 911 at 4:58 pm. FDNY firefighters arrived first to provide treatment. NYU ambulances arrived shortly after. The driver, a Russian-speaking white male in his 50s, stayed on scene. The child was in traumatic cardiac arrest,  resuscitated by NYU EMS, and transported in serious but stable condition. NYPD Highway Collision Investigation Squad was requested. No criminality is suspected and the investigation is ongoing.
