Had the Mustang been a manual 5-speed and the ram-air III GTO been a Muncie 4-speed model they both would've been running 14 second times that day. During this event every single "automatic equipped" 5.0 Mustang ran 15 second times and the 5-speed models were running 14s with a couple notchback LX coupe models running as low as 14.1 second 1/4 mile times. Not really sure what a 1967 ram-air III was capable of, but surely low 14 second times I would think.
