November 22, 1963 -- "President Kennedy is dead of bullet wounds" is the shocking

announcement that can be heard in Part 13 of my 20-part WLW/JFK series.

Those terrible words were spoken by NBC newsman Edwin Newman. WLW-Radio in Cincinnati was

picking up the live feed from its main network: NBC-Radio in New York City.

Newman's bulletin, however, wasn't the official confirmation of JFK's death. The official

word comes just a few moments later, via a simulcast broadcast over NBC-Radio and NBC-TV.
