I was forced to upgrade the Associated SC18 to brushless because of overeating issues with the stock brushed motor. I found that the stock brushed motor on the Animus 18SC ran just fine after 30 min of run time. I think the only upgrade necessary for the Animus 18SC would be a LiPo pack for extended run times and reduce the temp of the battery pack.
