Michael Bills, executive in residence at The Ohio State University's Fisher College of Business, examines how Apple Computers used innovation on a number of different dimensions to dominate the portable music player market with the iPod. Apple was successful because the entire innovation process was carried out from the consumers perspective which resulted in a revolutionary interface for mp3 players, Bills said. The development started by looking at how customers accessed and consumed music and how they interacted with the iPod and other products including Apple computers. http://fisher.osu.edu/execed
