From parking curbs, to plowing through bushes on top of curbs, to doing random stuff off of curbs. They come in all shapes and sizes, and this clip is an ode to the mighty, mighty, curb. So far, the Scoff Skatelaces have been amazing, as have the Khiro and Bitch bushings. w00t! The song is "Salvation" performed by the Poo Poodles. http://poopoodles.net/ The Poo Poodles are sick, they've OK'd my use of the song, and if you look in my video channel you'll see an animation I did for a contest they held a while back (Little Bastard Girl). They make catchy songs that are barely a minute or two long. Really awesome. They're sort've like the Moldy Peaches, with a slightly different sense of humor and with more hooks and less need for instruments. I don't know if that makes sense. More about the boards in this video: When it comes to my personal setups, I tend to leave the house with two, one slightly larger than the other (but not significantly). All of the wheels in this clip are Spitfire F1 Streetburners, the bigger board has 54mm, the smaller (the one that I accidentally karate kicked into snapping) had the very same Lizard King F1s that I used way back in the F1 Streetburner review/commercial (remember the glow in the dark wheels?). Both trucks have Indy 129... my smaller board has lows, my larger board has regular 129 Kostons. I swapped the bottom bushing in the Indy Lows with Khiro reds (seen in detail in the "Review Preview" videos... the top bushings are still Indy, as I need to shave down new bushing to replace the tops to they'll fit. The larger Indys actually have a mix of "Bitch" yellow bushings on the bottom, and Khiro reds on the top. They feel amazing. The decks in no order (and the dimensions aren't exact): 1. Real- Justin Brock (his first pro model, and the one I snapped). Roughly 7.8". I put this board through hell and was about to replace it when I finally snapped it (I couldn't have landed on it worse). I'm replacing my smaller setup deck with a Dennis Busenitz dynamite deck... roughly the same size. 2. Real- Nick Dompierre No League, roughly 8.2". Again, the board had been through enough so Saturday I added it to my pile of donation decks to give to the shop. Nick's board is consistently one of my favorites in size and shape. 3. Real (see a pattern?)- Denniz Busenitz, Heatwave series (roughly the same size as the Dompierre... roughly 8.2 inches). My little board currently has Spitifre Streeburner bearings (reds) and my larger ride has Spitfire Cheapshots... which I've found to be amazing as hell! Once they break in, they spin like tornadoes in the mid west! Grip: I semi recently found out that I ride Jessup, because that's what we carry at the shop. It rides fine, but I've never really cared about grip, as long as it's the black stuff and not the crumbly stuff with color dye in it... I just find that distracting, but I'm a kook. As mentioned (and detailed in earlier vids), on my feet are Ruben Najera pro model skate laces made by Scoff Skateboarding: http://www.scoffskateboarding.com ...at this point, it's safe to say that the laces are amazing. I'll share more in another video, but I can't hurt these things. I'm putting in a lot of wear on the shoes, but the laces are still like they came out of the package. I'm truly impressed. Also: Curbs are made of happycrete. This was filmed mostly on April 10 and 11, maybe something on the 9th. Go scratch some paint! -Neal ps The 540 flip off the curb, is at this point my newest trick.
