The local literary fraternity is celebrating the birthday of the first black woman to be published in South Africa. Author, scholar and activist Miriam Tlali turns 80 today. The woman of many words has spoken and written on issues facing black women writers during apartheid South Africa. Close friends and colleagues have applauded the literary giant contributions to the fraternity.
