Stingray Bay is home to dozens of cownose and southern stingrays. Guests can experience stingrays up close and have the opportunity to touch these majestic animals as they glide gracefully through the water.
Stingrays are typically bottom feeders with molar-like teeth used to crush the shells of their prey such as crustaceans, mollusks and other invertebrates. These creatures have whip-like tails that contain a barb but are completely safe for guests of all ages since stingrays are docile and their barbs have been trimmed. This painless procedure is similar to cutting human fingernails.
Admission to Stingray Bay is free for Columbus Zoo Gold Members, $2 for Zoo Members and Zoombezi Bay passholders and $3 for General Admission. Guests may also have the chance to feed the animals at random times throughout the day for an additional fee of $2.
