--Overall Comments--

"Power Ponies" was definitely a different kind-of episode for the series, both in story,  visuals, and music.  I was interesting to see the shows' take on "superheroes" in the Pony universe, as well as be much more "parody heavy" than the show usually is.  Plus, we got a pretty cool, very over-the-top villain.  William Anderson and team hit the nail on the head in terms of their parody of the style of superhero movie/television show music.  Their main motif immediately reminds you of numerous superheroes theme tunes, and is just fun to hear repeated throughout the episode.


--Track Specific Comments--

The second longest track from the episode, at just over 3 minutes, here the Power Ponies head to Mane-iac's top-secret base of operations and fight with her evil clone henchman.  The no touching of the hair or face rule need not apply.  This BGM, and I guess the music as a whole from this episode, really gives me a "Captain America" vibe more than anything else.  We start out with a little march, and then as Applejack says the Power Ponies catch phrase, we get a retread of the Power Ponies theme, but with a little switch up at the end as the melody heads up instead of down, something you'll hear a lot in superhero themes during similar situations.  (Watch in 1080p!)
