Petroleum traders believe that the U.S. recovery is occurring faster than initially thought, says UC Davis economist Christopher Knittel. "So on the one hand you have  faster recovery — more economic activity — that's a benefit but that also what comes along with it are higher oil prices," he says. (2009 NewsWatch)
