Well. This is a sad one for me to share, but I think this event needs special acknowledgement. For the past two years I’ve lived with my four friends, Grace, Hayles, Chris, and Annais in this little old house. This place is special to me in many ways. This is the first place I lived after graduating college. It’s basically the first time I’ve been an actual grownup. I had to face my fears of what comes after school. That was a big change, and it all happened in this house. This place is also where I started my YouTube channel. If you’ve followed me for a while then you’ve seen our living room, our yard, and pretty much every corner of my room. I’ve grown in many ways because of this YouTube channel, and it all started here. And lastly it was special because of my roommates. They are so colorful. We understood each other, because we are all musicians. Throughout the days someone was always playing a new song they wrote. We would also have house shows where our friends were invited to perform and paint murals on the wall by our driveway. I learned a lot from them, and we all became really close during our time here. I decided early on when I wrote this song that I wanted the last scene to be me all alone in my empty / packed up room. I didn’t realize how sad it really would be though, and I basically ended up recording 20 minutes of crying. But even though endings are sad, I just wanted to make something that would be a tribute to the house. And that in a few years when I watch this video again, I’ll be able to remember the feelings and smells of this place more clearly. Thanks to my wonderful *former* roommates for being a part of this video.
