At one year of age most babies can start to eat whatever we eat. They often become interested in what's on our plate so as long as it's the right size and texture you can feed it to them. They're going to become excited about trying new foods and textures. The only thing to keep in mind is that there are a few things that can still cause your baby to choke and so you want to stay away from the following things until your child is about four years of age: hot dogs, whole grapes, popcorn, any kind of nut, large chunks of meat, raw veggies, and things like gum or chewy hard candies. All of those things can become choking hazards to your child and should be avoided. But other than that there are many things your child can eat and try to introduce things, in fact if you find that he doesn't like things on the first try know that studies have shown that it can sometimes it takes 10 to 15 introductions before a child will actually eat it. The only thing you can do is offer healthy options at every single meal and he's going to choose what he's going to eat and how much of it he's going to eat.
