Molinaro slams Cuomo before debate

(22 Oct 2018) New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo and Republican challenger Marc Molinaro have agreed to a one-on-one debate two weeks before voters head to the polls. Cuomo, a Democrat, balked at debating Molinaro for weeks before agreeing to Tuesday's debate. The two-term Democrat is far ahead of Molinaro in the polls and in fundraising. Molinaro said the debate is about democracy. "There are governors who are well ahead of their opponents in other states that absolutely without hesitation debate, but not this one. Not this one, because he's either afraid to defend his record or he's just too arrogant to believe that he is to be questioned," said Molinaro.
