Borrowed in 1981 from a friend who is a former USA national ski team member, these 4 four balance exercises are meant to be done with your eyes closed. Do them daily for at least a week straight and you will notice a quick improvement. Add time and repetitions as you improve (ideally reaching 3 minutes and/or 25 repetitions). Have fun, and don't cheat! Eyes closed!

Additional information:
1. Your leg muscles will ache the first few times you do this. Remember to loosely shake your leg muscles after each individual exercise. It will really help.
2. Doing these balance exercises, or any balance exercises, barefooted (or with just socks), will further accelerate the improvement of your balance. Clearly, the surface you choose for these exercises and/or the callous on your feet will dictate how much, or how little, your feet are protected.
3. Don't forget to keep your eyes closed. Don't cheat.
4. Stay away from anything that will hurt you while doing these exercises, like loose bricks, bbq grills, legos, swords, animal traps, and pointy headed children.

These set of exercises from the USA Ski Team are exceptional. I have used them in private and team training for over 20 years and seen wonderful improvement in those that did the work. I will put together another video in the near future highlighting all the other exercises he did with the ski team to prepare for the racing season, because they transfer wonderfully to the sport of soccer (aka "football")..... and they are fun.
