Greetings! I am simply sharing with you a birthday card I made for Rick's Daughter. She turns 15 today.

I made this card using a card base made from black cardstock cut for an A7 card which is a 5x7 card. I matted it out with kraft card stock and matted again with some red floral designer paper from the Steampunk Botanical set by Reflections. I also fussy cut designs from two other papers out of the Steampunk Botanical paper pad as well as cuts from the Tim Holtz Crowded Attic Paperstack. I popped up several pieces on dimensional pop dots to bring them off the page.

I inked all edges with Tim Holtz Distress Ink in the color Vintage Photo. I always ink my edges, I think it makes the piece look finished and gives another bit of depth to the work.

I stamped a sentiment "Enjoy the Journey" from a Tim Holtz stamp set and embellished that with some gemstone brads by American Crafts from their earthtones assortment.

I matted out the inside of the card with Kraft cardstock so that Rick could write on it.

I really, really like the way this card came out and don't usually brag about what I make, but this one is just too cute not to share. I love the steampunk style and hope you do too!

I hope this inspires you to go and make a card the next time you need one! You don't need a lot of supplies, in fact you can make a great card by printing out some great clip art from the internet and simply layer, layer, layer! A ream of white cardstock can go a long long way. The internet is full of great clip art for the taking and the possibilities are endless!

Thanks for watching!
