The Congressional Oversight Panel released its monthly report for July last week, bringing some much needed scrutiny to the repayment of TARP funds and the Treasury Department's questionable oversight of that process. Unfortunately, that report had some less than desirable news for taxpayers, as we found out that the banks who received bailout money have been able to repay parts of their loans at only a fraction of the original amount. This amounts to hundreds of millions dollars worth of losses for US consumers, while letting corporations keep billions of dollars that they didn't earn, and certainly didn't deserve. Mike Papantonio of Air America's Ring of Fire talks about how we're once again getting ripped off from these corporate giants with investigative journalist Andy Kroll.
