Goa-Belgaum highway at Anmod ghat has been closed for expansion work of highway. The road has been barricaded by gates and is supposed to be closed for 6 months.
Meanwhile, Sanjivani sugar factory farmers have raised concern over the effect of the road closure on sugar production. Sanjivani Emplyee claim that most of the raw material is transported from this route and the closure appears to be another threat for Sanjivani's smooth functioning. 
At present light motor vehicles have been diverted via Khanapur through forest while heavy vehicles take Chorla,Karwar,Amboli route to reach Begaum.
