President Donald Trump thanked the California firefighters for their 'courage' during a press conference on Tuesday just days after they blasted him from his initial response to the deadly wildfires. 'We mourn for the lives lost and we pray for the victims of the California Wildfires,' the president said on Tuesday just hours before the death toll climbed to 50. 'I want to thank the Firefighters and First Responders for their incredible courage in the face of grave danger,' Trump added. His remarks came just hours before the death toll from the California wildfires climbed to 50, making the Camp Fire the deadliest in United States history. On Saturday Trump was criticized by several firefighter associations after he blamed the wildfires on 'poor' forest management. Several firefighter associations called Trump's remarks 'ill-informed' and 'shameful'.
