The Oscar® winning producer of Rocky and the acclaimed director of Chariots Of Fire explode a powder keg of history - illustrating the monumental struggle of ordinary people caught up in the bloody battle for independence, longing for a taste of freedom. New York trapper Tom Dobb (Al Pacino, Heat) finds himself an unwilling participant in the American Revolution after his son Ned (Dexter Fletcher, Kick-Ass) is drafted into the Army by the malevolent Sergeant Major Peasy (Donald Sutherland, Don't Look Now). As Tom desperately searches for his son he comes to accept his charge and decides to rise and fight for the freedom of the Colonies, alongside the aristocratic rebel Daisy McConnahay (Nastassja Kinski, Tess).
