Russia is preparing for the Winter Olympics in Sochi in 2014. Construction is underway on ski slopes, cross-country tracks, hockey rinks, dormitories, access roads, and parking lots. But environmentalists are sounding the alarm. The facilities are being built in the middle of a nature reserve, part of which is a UNESCO World Heritage site, and they say that unique forests with rare animal and plant species have already been severely damaged.
