I have always been interested in evolutionary algorithms. I wanted to try my hand at simulating some creatures. I didn't have a lot of luck today, but it was just a few hours of work. I think I figured out how the physics joints work now. DNA type has been implemented. It takes in a string where each character is a command for physical generation. New nodes can only spawn at the vertexes of the d8. There will be a few "hacks" around this that could hopefully be exploited. The DNA will tell the node how to create the child node, how big the veticies are supposed to be, how tough and strong the joint is, everything. I want the simulation to as much simulate the growth of a creature as it's performance. Later I will add different organs (the colored nodes) that do all kinds of different things. Like the following: Photosynthesis - generate energy based on how well lit it is. Gonad/egg/seed - store energy and full set of DNA, to generate into a child creature. root - extract nutrient from ground fat - energy storage. wing - creates thrust in direction? I want creatures to evolve, but to also be writeable by a human. That seems fun. Maybe I will find a way to implement sexual reproduction. I am getting ahead of myself. I got one to shuffle. Later!
