Wednesday the Gauteng Department of Education held a consultative summit on issues confronting the department and the independent schools. The theme was "Working towards an integrated Education System", a befitting caption under the current circumstances, looking at the spate of incidences that have been taking place recently. Some of the issues under discussion included non-compliance with policy, curriculum, social cohesion and governance. Our guests joining us are Joe Mpisi, the chairperson of the Education Portfolio Committee in Gauteng, and Dr Tim Nuttall, the Rector and Executive Head of St Stithians College.
