The water level in a barrier lake caused by a landslide in southwest China has subsided. The landslide hit the border area of Sichuan Province and Tibet Autonomous Region on October 11.
More than 21,000 people had been relocated and authorities initiated a national emergency response on October 12. No casualties were reported, but the barrier lake was worrying as it could cause a devastating flood if the massive amount of water was suddenly released.
